Dittonsfair

The Dittons Fair is an annual community celebration serving Thames and Long Ditton, with a history dating back to the “Summer Spree” of 1956. Held on Giggs Hill Green, the free-entry fair brings local residents together for a day of family entertainment, shopping and refreshments. It also provides the main source of funding for scouting activities for more than 180 local children aged 6 to 18 who attend The Dittons Scout Group.

Visitors can enjoy a lively arena programme featuring the Dotty Dog Show and performances by local dance and theatre groups. More than 25 traditional fair activities include crazy golf, coconut shy, hoopla and the fair’s signature Pig Racing, alongside rides and attractions such as bungee trampolines and a giant inflatable slide. The event also offers a prize tombola supported by local sponsors, more than 30 craft and charity stalls, and food and treats including barbecue, ice cream, candy floss, popcorn and homemade goodies in the Tea Tent. The fair is opened by the Dittons Scouts.
