Earth Medicine Physical Rehabilitation is a nonprofit organisation providing specialised rehabilitation therapy and humanitarian support to displaced and vulnerable people on the Greek island of Lesvos. Since 2019, it has supported more than 1,200 individuals and delivered over 70,000 hours of therapy. Its work serves people living with physical disabilities, chronic injuries and pain, including those affected by war, violence, famine and natural disasters.
The organisation offers tailored, multidisciplinary programmes designed to support physical recovery and overall wellbeing. Treatments include physiotherapy, acupuncture and therapeutic massage, delivered by experienced international volunteer therapists in collaboration with local medical specialists. Earth Medicine takes a holistic approach, addressing each person’s needs rather than focusing only on individual symptoms. Its work also promotes solidarity and mutual understanding between service users and the local community.
Donations help fund therapeutic care, and the organisation welcomes volunteer therapists who want to contribute their expertise. Earth Medicine reports on its activities and finances through annual reports, reflecting its commitment to transparency and to improving mobility, easing pain and enhancing quality of life.
