Iceworks Design Pty Ltd

Iceworks Design is a design and build team that supports emerging talent through its Emerging Designers program. Focused on creativity, collaboration and problem-solving, the program gives three designers paid industry experience in an immersive four-week project. Participants are mentored by the Iceworks team and work through the full scope of commercial production design, from understanding a brief and developing concepts to planning construction, pricing and presenting a finished design.

The program is structured to reflect a real-world design process. In the first week, participants research the brief, develop concepts and plan their work collaboratively. They then refine their initial ideas with guidance from the Iceworks team. During the third week, a construction manager reviews the designs and advises on build methods, materials and labour. In the final week, participants complete their designs and present them to the team, receiving industry feedback.

Through this experience, Iceworks Design aims to showcase emerging designers and help them take their first steps into the industry while developing practical skills in communication, time management and teamwork.
