The Factory House, also known as Feitoria Inglesa, is a historic landmark in Porto that tells the story of the city’s British port wine merchants and the cultural ties formed around the wine trade. For more than two hundred years, the building served as a private domain for British merchants, hosting discreet diplomacy and long-standing traditions. Today, visitors can explore its richly detailed interiors, including hand-painted maps and luxurious furniture, and discover the stories behind its rooms and historic Wednesday luncheons. The experience offers an intimate perspective on Porto’s heritage and the history of Port wine.

The Factory House welcomes visitors from Friday to Tuesday, between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with last entry at 5:00 p.m. Tickets cost €14 for adults and €7 for students and visitors aged 12 to 18; admission is free for children under 12, except those visiting in groups. Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket office. The site provides lockers, though visits are not advised for people with reduced mobility.
