About The Flower Fields
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is a brand that has been cultivating beautiful flowers for nearly 85 years. It all began with Luther Gage, a horticulturist who settled in the area in the early 1920s. Mr.
Gage introduced ranunculus seeds to the fields, and soon after, Frank Frazee joined in the cultivation. In 1933, Frank Frazee's son Edwin took over the flower operation and dedicated himself to perfecting the flowers' colors and fullness. Edwin carefully selected seeds from nature's most beautiful and unique specimens, resulting in thirteen stunning colors and picotee variations.
Today, The Flower Fields showcases the fruits of their labor, offering a breathtaking display of ranunculus flowers in various shades and patterns. Although the flowers are no longer in bloom and the 2023 season has closed, The Flower Fields eagerly awaits your visit in 2024. In addition to being a must-see attraction, The Flower Fields also offers group sales, photography and filming opportunities, private events, educational programs, and a shop where you can bring a piece of beauty home with you.
