About Foundation for Civil Society
The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) is an independent Tanzanian non-profit organization that enables citizens' engagement in development processes. Established in 2002, FCS provides grants and capacity-building services to civil society organizations (CSOs) to enhance their effectiveness. By facilitating partnerships for development, FCS aims to create an empowered, resilient, and responsible citizenry that realizes social and economic justice.
FCS offers a range of services to CSOs, including grants and capacity development programs. Through these programs, CSOs receive training on compliance, laws, and regulations governing NGO operations. FCS also conducts Manage Your Grants (MYG) training to ensure efficient management of resources.
The organization publishes success stories and news on its website, showcasing the impact of its interventions. In addition, FCS organizes events like the CSO Week, where participants explore the transformative power of technology and society. FCS also recently launched a book reflecting on its 20 years of implementing people-centered development interventions.
With a focus on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and volunteerism, FCS strives to foster harmonious coexistence and sustainable peace in Tanzania
