Giving Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance to food service workers facing unexpected crises. Founded in response to the support received by Jen and Ryan Hidinger during a personal crisis, the organization has spent more than a decade helping workers in restaurants, bars, coffee shops, food trucks, cafeterias, catering, and concessions. Its support combines direct financial aid with connections to practical community services.

Qualified clients may receive help with housing and utility bills, helping families remain housed and fed. Through its Stability Network, Giving Kitchen connects workers with resources for physical health and wellness, substance misuse, employment, housing and utilities, and family and social services. The organization also offers mental health resources, QPR training, and Clinic Comps.

Giving Kitchen shares stories from workers it has supported and reports outcomes that include preventing homelessness and food insecurity for many financial assistance recipients. It engages the wider community through donations, fundraising, volunteering, corporate partnerships, and events that support its mission.
