About The Glenshiel
The Glenshiel Housing Society is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable and independent living for low to middle-income seniors. Located in beautiful downtown Victoria, BC, The Glenshiel offers a safe and secure environment that promotes independence.
Originally built in 1908/1909 as a European-style hotel, The Glenshiel is now home to over 70 residents. It is operated by The Glenshiel Housing Society in collaboration with BC Housing and the Royal BC Museum. The society provides rental accommodation and hospitality services, including meals, activities, bed-sitting rooms, and light housekeeping.
With the recent addition of their very own Glenshiel vehicle, made possible by the estate of former resident Mr. Conrad Burns, residents now have access to new adventures and enhanced accessibility. The van, with its fourteen-passenger capacity, opens up a wide array of opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.
Situated within short walking distance of Victoria's most incredible spots, such as Beacon Hill Park and the Victoria Inner Harbor, The Glenshiel offers convenience and proximity to amenities. The society also acknowledges the indigenous peoples whose traditional territory it stands on.
