The Good Latch

The Good Latch is an Adelaide lactation support service led by Laurinda Knudsen, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). It provides evidence-based information and practical guidance to help parents understand feeding challenges and find a way forward suited to their needs. Support is available throughout the lactation journey, from pregnancy and the early days after birth to returning to work, continuing to breastfeed, and weaning.

Services include home visits during pregnancy to discuss concerns and plan for feeding, as well as support with latch and positioning, nipple pain, engorgement, mastitis, milk supply, unsettled feeding, and infant growth. The Good Latch also advises on expressing and bottle feeding, nipple shields, supplemental feeding, relactation, and weaning at any age. Laurinda can assess tongue function using clinical skills and assessment tools, offering an independent perspective and helping families consider their options.
