The Great Kindness Challenge is a Kids for Peace initiative that helps schools and families build a culture of kindness through simple, positive actions. Its School Edition invites students and educators to take part in a one-week challenge using a kindness checklist, while the Family Edition encourages households to join in anytime and anywhere. The program is free, easy to use, proactive, and designed for learners from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, with an emphasis on bullying prevention and positive school climates.
The organization provides checklists, classroom curriculum, apps, videos, and other GKC tools to support participation. Its wider initiatives include kindness certification programs for schools, districts, education offices, sports teams, and companies, as well as Kind Coins fundraising projects supporting children, communities, and environmental causes. Other projects include underwear and sock drives, family and school activities, a photo contest, and past toy-giving and kindness campaigns. The Great Kindness Challenge also offers resources, news, and ways to get involved, alongside opportunities to donate and shop its store.
