The Grumpy Whale is a brand that offers high-quality, plant-based products perfect for your Icelandic adventures. Our story began in 2020, fueled by a cup of hot chocolate and loads of ambition. Inspired by Rauðhöfði, the mischievous whale from Hvalfjörður, our original recipe was created after a long, cold hike in the area.

We recently opened our hot chocolate and Adventure gift store on Reykjavík's bustling Skólavörðustígur, known as 'the rainbow street'. We stock our shop with eco-friendly gifts, local art, and our own delicious hot chocolate. After a brief hiatus to welcome our newest family member, we returned online in 2023 with our brand new children's book.

Our founder, Becca, an adventure guide specializing in scuba diving, knows the importance of a good hot chocolate to warm you up after thrilling cold adventures. At The Grumpy Whale, we are committed to being a responsible business and promoting sustainable practices. We strive to constantly learn and evolve to achieve global best practices.
