Kate Seselja is an Australian recovery coach, speaker and national advocate for gambling reform, drawing on her lived experience of gambling harm to support individuals and influence change. After experiencing gambling harm for 12 years, she founded The Hope Project in 2015 to help people build resilience, reduce stigma and find pathways to recovery.
Through The Hope Project and her wider work, Kate offers recovery coaching, gambling harm awareness workshops and speaking engagements for workplaces, schools, universities and communities in Australia and internationally. Her presentations and programs encourage compassionate conversations about gambling harm and practical responses to adversity. The Hope Project also holds a licence to screen the award-winning documentary Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope.
Kate has spent more than a decade advocating for gambling reform at state and federal levels and has served in advisory and community roles. She is also the author of I Bet I Can Change Your Mind, a book about gambling harm and reform.
