The Humane Society of Marion County is a renowned non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to the care and protection of animals in Marion County, Florida. For over 55 years, we have been devoted to serving and rescuing homeless and neglected animals in the Ocala area. From our humble beginnings in 1964 with just a few foster homes and a handful of dedicated individuals, we have grown exponentially to become a leading voice for animal welfare in the community.

Our mission is to ensure that no animal goes without a loving home. We offer various services and programs including the adoption of shelter animals, providing them with a forever home and a second chance at life. Additionally, we actively work to prevent animal abuse and neglect through awareness campaigns and education.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to care for the animals, providing them with medical treatment, spay/neuter services, nutritious food, comfortable living environments, and much-needed love and attention. To support our cause, we welcome donations to help fund our operations and provide vital care for the animals in our care. We also have a thrift store where the profits directly benefit our shelter animals.

If you are passionate about animal welfare and want to make a difference, you can become a volunteer and join us in our rescue efforts. Together, we can make a profound impact on the lives of animals in need. Join us in our mission to eliminate euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets in North Central Florida.
