About The Image Centre
The Image Centre is a free-admission photography gallery and research centre located at 33 Gould Street in downtown Toronto, Canada. It presents exhibitions that explore photography and its cultural significance, bringing historic and contemporary images to public audiences. Its programme includes current, upcoming and past exhibitions, as well as a student gallery. Featured shows can include substantial presentations of influential photographers, accompanied by public events and talks.
The Centre supports research through its collections, collection search, Peter Higdon Research Centre, fellowships, research fellowships, symposia and publications. Visitors can also explore event recordings, join tours and take part in youth-focused programming. A shop and opportunities to donate provide additional ways to engage with the Centre.
The Image Centre offers free admission and welcomes visitors at its downtown Toronto location. Its seasonal hours include weekday and weekend opening times, with some days closed. The organisation also shares news, event announcements and exhibition information through its website and mailing list, and acknowledges support from the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario.
