About The Indigenous Foundation
The Indigenous Foundation, established in November 2020 by Meera Baswan and Sena Yenilmez, is dedicated to promoting awareness and support for Indigenous communities across Turtle Island. Founded with the mission of dismantling negative stereotypes and sharing holistic perspectives, TIF serves as an important platform for amplifying Indigenous voices, advocates, and stories.
The organization addresses critical issues such as the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and the lack of clean drinking water in many Indigenous communities. By disseminating valuable information and fostering dialogue, The Indigenous Foundation seeks to raise awareness and encourage accountability on topics frequently overlooked in mainstream narratives.
Through their engaging online presence, including social media and a dedicated website, TIF has grown significantly since its inception, providing resources, articles, and podcasts. With aspirations of becoming a registered non-profit, The Indigenous Foundation aims to give back to Indigenous communities while continuing to educate and empower individuals to share their voices and experiences.
