The Kings Head is an historic pub and hospitality venue on High Street in Galway’s Latin Quarter, with a building dating back more than 800 years. Its story is closely connected to the city’s past, and the venue presents itself as a place where Galway’s history and contemporary pub culture meet. Across three floors, guests can enjoy a broad drinks selection, including Irish whiskeys, craft beers, classic cocktails and cocktails made with poitín. The pub also serves its own Blood Red Ale, brewed in Oranmore by Galway Hooker Brewery.
Food is offered in both the bar and bistro, with a seasonal approach focused on fresh, local ingredients. Menu examples include crab claws, scallops, Connemara lamb and locally grown organic vegetables. Entertainment is central to the experience: free live music is hosted seven nights a week, alongside traditional music sessions, regular stand-up comedy and lunchtime theatre. The Kings Head also sells merchandise designed and printed in Galway City.
