The Lautner Compound is a historic boutique hotel and event destination in Desert Hot Springs, California, celebrating the work of renowned American architect John Lautner. Designed and built in 1947 for Hollywood film producer Lucien Hubbard, the architectural property was later restored by designers Beckmann and Trowbridge. It is presented as the only collection of John Lautner residences open to the booking public.
At its heart is Hotel Lautner, featuring four carefully restored residences that combine the character of 1940s design with modern comforts. Guests can book self-catering stays and experience the buildingsโ distinctive mid-century modern architecture firsthand. The property also offers private event spaces for celebrations, micro weddings, and other gatherings, with a setting shaped by iconic design and the surrounding desert landscape. Tours and merchandise are also featured among its offerings.
Located in the Coachella Valley, the compound is about 15 minutes from Palm Springs and 30 minutes from Joshua Tree. The Lautner Compound brings together historic architecture, hospitality, overnight stays, and distinctive event experiences.
