The Lost Enzyme Project is a dedicated non-profit initiative founded by families affected by Beta-mannosidosis, a rare and progressive lysosomal disorder with no existing treatment options. Recognizing the urgent need for research and hope, the project collaborates with the Kimonis Lab at the University of California, Irvine, to advance preclinical studies for enzyme replacement therapy targeted at this under-researched condition.
In partnership with JCR Pharmaceuticals, the project aims to develop beta-mannosidase, the essential enzyme missing in patients. Utilizing JCR’s innovative J-Brain Cargo® technology, which successfully penetrates the blood-brain barrier, this initiative is paving the way for potential therapies that could transform lives. To date, the campaign has raised over $160,000 to support critical research efforts, including training and preliminary studies. The Lost Enzyme Project embodies a grassroots movement fueled by compassion and commitment, inviting supporters to join its mission to bring hope and pioneering treatments to those impacted by Beta-mannosidosis.
