About Martin Family Initiative
The Martin Family Initiative (MFI) is a brand that is dedicated to supporting education, health, and overall well-being for First Nations, Inuit, and MΓ©tis Nation children, youth, and adults. Their mission is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. MFI offers a range of programs and resources to achieve this goal.
In the area of early childhood, MFI works with parents as their first and best teachers, ensuring that children grow up happy, healthy, and ready to learn. They also focus on building literacy skills, with a strong emphasis on cultural identity, language, and history. In addition, MFI introduces youth and adult students to the world of business through entrepreneurship and mentoring programs, preparing them for the working world regardless of their chosen career path.
MFI's programs span across the spectrum of learning, from early childhood to post-secondary education, supporting parents, young children, students in First Nations schools, and educators. Their vision is to create equity of opportunity, recognizing the potential in every person. With locations across 9 provinces and 2 territories in Canada, MFI has supported over 8,000 students since 2008.
They are committed to making a positive impact on the Indigenous population, the youngest and fastest growing segment of Canada's population, by breaking down barriers and providing essential services in education and healthcare
