Monarch Montessori School

Monarch Montessori School is a women-owned and operated early childhood education provider in Alexandria, Virginia, serving infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Its Montessori approach recognizes each child’s individual strengths, needs, and learning style, with educators guiding development through thoughtfully prepared classrooms, authentic Montessori materials, and multi-age learning. The school emphasizes early literacy, independence, self-discovery, cooperation, and growth across academic, social, emotional, and physical areas. Children are encouraged to work together, solve problems, and build lasting friendships, while teachers tailor experiences to their observations of each student.

Monarch offers infant, toddler, and primary programs, with full-time and part-time schedule options. Additional services include back-up care for children ages seven months to eight years, subject to availability, and a Mom’s Morning Out program for ages two to five, featuring Montessori instruction, snack, circle time, individual work, art, and outdoor play. Families can arrange in-person classroom tours. The school is a MCCYN and Virginia Childcare Subsidy Provider, and military families receive priority status.
