Montessori Children's House

Montessori Children’s House is a Montessori school serving young children and families in the Des Moines metro, including Ankeny, Johnston, Urbandale, and Waukee. Its purpose-built learning environment supports children from 18 months to age six, with programs designed around independence, curiosity, and development at each child’s pace. Rather than functioning as a traditional daycare or preschool, the school offers a structured, carefully prepared classroom where children choose hands-on learning materials and teachers guide and support their work.

Programs include toddler options for children 18 months to three years, primary programs for ages three to six, and Spanish immersion for primary-age children. Families can also explore lower elementary, enrichment, before- and after-care, summer programs, and special activities. The school provides part-time and full-time primary enrollment options and invites families to book a tour to observe classroom routines and learn about admissions. Montessori Children’s House also shares educational resources about the Montessori method and child development, and offers opportunities for family involvement through events and volunteering.
