The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a charming and affectionate breed originating from southwest Wales, celebrated for its historical ties to British royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II, who famously owned over 30 during her reign. Recognized as a distinct breed since 1934, Pembrokes are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and playful nature, making them great companions, especially for families with children.

These energetic dogs require daily exercise to stay happy and healthy, thriving on long walks and vigorous play sessions. Ideal living conditions for Pembrokes include indoor spaces with access to a secure yard, allowing them to explore and play safely. With their medium coats, they need regular grooming, particularly weekly brushing to maintain their coat's health.

However, potential owners should be aware of some common health concerns, including sprains, gastrointestinal issues, and skin allergies. Popular names for these lovable dogs include Max, Lucy, and Charlie, reflecting their vibrant personalities and endearing presence in households everywhere.
