About The Black British Museum Project
Museum X is an innovative project that aims to create Britain's very first museum dedicated to honoring and celebrating the rich history, art, and culture of Black British individuals. By collaborating with museums, galleries, archives, and heritage sites, Museum X works closely with talented artists and creatives to experiment and bring forth groundbreaking ideas. Their mission is to amplify voices from all sections of our communities, particularly focusing on artists of African descent, both on a national and international level.
With a commitment to inclusivity, Museum X welcomes everyone to join their community and be a part of their journey. They collaborate with experts and specialists from the UK arts and heritage sector, offering a range of services. This includes community participation and engagement, curatorial services such as events, exhibitions, and online collections, interpretation to support inclusive history programs, project-based research and evaluation, and anti-racism training.
