The National Association to Advance Black Birth

The National Association to Advance Black Birth (NAABB) is committed to improving the health outcomes of Black women, infants, and birthing individuals by addressing the structural racism in maternal and infant healthcare. Through advocacy, research, and educational programs, NAABB empowers birth workers—such as doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, nurses, and doctors—with the necessary tools and knowledge to enhance care in this vital area.

The organization champions the Black Birthing Bill of Rights, a crucial resource designed to educate Black individuals about their rights within maternity care and guide health providers in reforming their approaches to better serve the needs of Black birthing people. NAABB also offers programs such as the Birth Justice Incubator & Fellowship and a Black Midwifery Scholarship, aimed at cultivating new leaders in maternal health advocacy. Through donations and community engagement, NAABB fosters a supportive network aimed at transforming the landscape of Black maternal health across the nation.
