About The NHM
The Natural History Museum is a pioneering museum that collaborates with frontline communities, artists, scientists, and scholars to create narratives about our shared history and future. Their goal is to educate the public, influence public opinion, and inspire collective action. Through award-winning exhibitions, public events, research, and campaigns, they support community-led defense of land and water and encourage scientists, heritage professionals, and museums to advance climate and environmental justice.
The NHM is a museum for the movement, dedicated to building a community of practice around a natural history for the future. Launched in 2014 by the activist art collective Not An Alternative, the museum takes the form of a traveling, pop-up museum. Their work has generated global media coverage, and their projects have been featured in renowned institutions.
The NHM team includes a diverse group of staff, fellows, and a board of directors. They have also received numerous awards and recognition for their impactful work
