The Nautical Arts Workshop

The Nautical Arts Workshop is a woodworking school and craft studio in Deep River, Connecticut, inspired by the region’s maritime heritage and New England traditions. It welcomes people interested in either learning hands-on woodworking or purchasing finely made wooden pieces. Small group workshops and private lessons offer personal instruction and guidance, with classes tailored to students’ interests. Beginners are welcome, and no previous experience is required; participants learn using traditional tools and techniques.

The workshop’s Nautical Arts Gallery features handcrafted items across a range of categories, including cutting and serving boards, carvings and folk art, bracelets and keychains, half-hull models, and outdoor and garden pieces. Private woodworking classes are also presented as gift options, and the business offers gift cards. The workshop’s site lists upcoming events, including arts and craft shows, giving visitors another way to engage with its work. Combining practical instruction with maritime-inspired craftsmanship, The Nautical Arts Workshop provides a welcoming setting to explore woodworking and discover distinctive handmade pieces.
