New Beverly Cinema, a cultural landmark, started in 1978 as the brainchild of Sherman Torgan. For almost 30 years, it has been a repertory movie haven. Under the late Sherman Torgan's tutelage, the theater became a cherished film school and beloved cultural hub offering nightly themed double feature pairings of classic, foreign, independent, and arthouse cinema.

Upon Sherman's passing in 2007, his son Michael took over the theater, overseeing its operations and helping usher in a new era. Then, ten years later, Oscar-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino took ownership and became the head programmer. Committed to celluloid, Tarantino exclusively showcases film prints at the New Beverly Cinema, a decision aligned with his passion for the unique artistry of 35mm films.

The cinema offers a diverse range of programs and ongoing series, drawing from Tarantino's private collection and other curated prints.
