The Old Moat Garden Centre & Cafe is part of Waythrough, a charitable organisation, and uses its trading activities to fund wellbeing services. Every purchase helps support people on their recovery journeys. The garden centre offers a varied selection of plants, including many grown on site, alongside gifts and local products such as cards, books, puzzles, toys, soaps, candles and toiletries.

Its café serves hot and cold drinks, smoothies, cakes, pastries and lunch options including paninis, soup, jacket potatoes, salads and seasonal specials. It is dog friendly and offers gluten-free and dairy-free choices. Some café ingredients come from the centre’s walled garden, where people using the service grow produce.

The Old Moat’s wellbeing service provides horticulture and retail training, supportive teamwork opportunities and planning sessions to help individuals set recovery goals. Staff and volunteers support participants, with more than 50 people currently accessing the service. The centre also welcomes volunteers for roles in its garden, shop and café, and invites donations and fundraising to help sustain and develop its programs.
