About The Old Station
The Old Station Allerston offers distinctive self-catering accommodation in three railway carriages, set just east of Pickering in North Yorkshire. Located on the edge of the North York Moors and Dalby Forest, the former station provides a base for exploring the region’s countryside, coastline and local attractions. The coast is around 12 miles away, while Pickering, home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, is approximately five miles from the site.
The website provides information about the carriages, prices and availability, booking, location and the station’s history. Visitors can also view galleries of the carriages and Ticket Office, and check the noticeboard for updates on booking availability and other news. The station’s platform canopy and waiting area restoration received the Commercial Restoration Award at the National Railway Heritage Awards in 2025; the Ticket Office project was highly commended.
