About The Olive Branch for Children
The Olive Branch for Children (TOBFC) is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 2005 by Deborah McCracken. Their mission is to reduce poverty and create a better future for children and communities in the Mbeya region of western Tanzania. TOBFC provides critical support to over 50 communities, helping more than 200,000 people each year.
The organization started by supporting six children at The Zion Home and has since grown to support individuals of all ages and stages of life. They offer various programs in education, health, community support, climate care, and social enterprise. TOBFC is committed to empowering communities and helping them achieve their dreams.
As a registered Canadian charity, a registered charity in Ireland, and a registered NGO in Tanzania, TOBFC operates entirely in Tanzania while raising funds from their Global Family of supporters in Canada, Ireland, and Germany. With over 80 staff members located in Tanzania, the organization ensures that decisions regarding annual programming are made locally.
