THE OPERA HOUSE

The Opera House, located at 735 Queen Street East in Riverside, Toronto, is a legendary performing arts venue with a rich history that dates back to its opening in 1909. Originally known as the La Plaza Theatre, it started as an Edwardian vaudeville stage and later transformed into a cinema. However, with the emergence of multiplexes, the space was reinvented as a single-screen performing arts venue.

In 1989, the building was sold and became the iconic Opera House that we know today. The venue has beautifully preserved its original vaudeville theatre architecture, boasting a captivating 35-foot proscenium arch and even retaining a couple of the old projectors in the balcony. Presently, the Opera House continues to captivate audiences with its stunning architecture while adapting to the modern world.

It features a 900 sq. With tiered levels in both areas, the venue offers excellent sight lines for all attendees. The Opera House hosts a versatile range of events, including concerts, weddings, comedy shows, theatre performances, and video shoots.

As a full-service licensed venue, it provides in-house production teams, security, coat check, and bar staff. Over the past 30 years, the Opera House has attracted an impressive list of global talent, including Metallica, Eminem, Green Day, Maroon 5, and Travis Scott, making it a unique historical landmark and an essential destination in Toronto's entertainment scene
