Owl Sanctuary Ebbw

Owl Sanctuary Ebbw is a leading sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and care of injured and uncared-for owls, hawks, and falcons. Operating 24/7, our team of trained volunteers, led by Malcolm Jones with 47 years of experience, works tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of these magnificent birds. Our sanctuary is not only a safe haven for these creatures but also a place of education and wonder.

We offer school educational visits, where children have the opportunity to learn about these magnificent birds up close and even hold an owl. Additionally, we attend shows and fetes, where we display a variety of owls, hawks, and falcons from around the world. Our dedicated volunteers are always present to explain and provide the unique experience of holding these beautiful birds.

Established in 1992, the sanctuary at Festival Park is mainly self-funded through school visits, fetes, and public donations. While some birds can be released back into the wild, those bred in captivity or non-native species find a permanent home with us. We are committed to giving these birds the love and care they deserve.

We are immensely grateful to our incredible team of volunteers, some of whom have been with us for over a decade. Their dedication and hard work have made our sanctuary a resounding success. From managing the day-to-day operations to attending events and educational projects, our volunteers play a crucial role in our mission.

When you visit Owl Sanctuary Ebbw, you not only support the welfare of these amazing birds but also get to witness the true beauty and majesty of these creatures up close. Don't forget, it's free to visit and experience the wonders of our sanctuary
