About The Oxymoron
The Oxymoron is Oxford’s satirical student magazine, founded in 2007 and produced through a collaborative writing effort. Published once each term, it offers humorous commentary and topical satire for the student community. The magazine’s writers are not named in print, reflecting its collective approach. It was nominated for Best Magazine at the Guardian Student Media Awards in 2008 and 2009, winning the award in 2009.
Readers can access the latest issue, as well as past editions in PDF format on the magazine’s website. Printed copies are distributed to subscribed JCRs and MCRs, mostly in Oxford. Termly subscriptions are available at £20 for 30 copies or £30 for 50 copies, with other rates offered on request. The Oxymoron also shares occasional material from its archive and some new content on Facebook and Instagram. Those interested in contributing can contact the magazine to learn about applying. It welcomes writers and editors, as well as graphic designers, Photoshop specialists, and people interested in finance.
