About Contraceptive Access Initiative
Contraceptive Access Initiative (CAI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing stigma-free access to contraception for all individuals. Established in 2020 under the Hopewell Foundation, CAI champions affordable, over-the-counter access to various contraceptive options, including the combined hormonal contraceptive pill and the progestin-only mini-pill, without age restrictions. The initiative focuses on removing financial barriers while combating misinformation and disinformation surrounding contraceptive options.
Through educational resources, CAI empowers individuals to make informed decisions regarding their reproductive health. Led by a distinguished management team, including Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley and advocacy veteran Ann O’Hanlon, CAI is committed to making reproductive health accessible free from bias and coercion.
The organization’s funding is derived from individual and foundation contributions, ensuring independence from pharmaceutical interests. By honoring the legacy of its founder, Ann McGuiness, CAI strives to maintain a world where everyone has access to the reproductive health resources they need
