The Plumber List is an independent nationwide directory designed to help people find and compare plumbing professionals using transparent business information rather than star ratings or referral rankings. It lists 24,008 plumbers across all 50 states and supports searches by location, with state and city browsing options. Individual profiles may include contact details, phone numbers, websites, hours, service information, addresses, and sources where available.

Listings also display last-checked dates, helping users understand when information was most recently reviewed and what may need confirmation. Business owners can claim their listings and review key details; a claimed status indicates that the owner confirmed those details. The directory covers common plumbing needs such as emergency repairs, drains and sewers, water heaters, installation, commercial plumbing, and gas services.

Users can review a listing and contact businesses directly by phone or through their websites. The Plumber List says it does not sell leads, charge referral fees, or accept payment for placement or higher rankings, positioning its service as an independent directory rather than a referral service
