The Poodle Place

The Poodle Place is a family-centered dog-breeding business in Schriever, Louisiana, founded by Laraine Giroir. Since beginning her breeding work in 1990, Laraine has focused on providing healthy, well-socialized puppies intended to become lifelong family companions. The program has included Standard and Toy Poodles and a range of poodle mixes, such as Maltipoos, Goldendoodles, Labradoodles, Aussiedoodles, Cavapoos, Sheepadoodles, Schnoodles, and Double Doodles, as well as Maltese and Morkiepoos.

The website emphasizes careful attention to pedigrees, color, and health, with genetic testing for parent dogs. Puppies are born and raised in Laraine’s home, where they receive socialization and training before going to their new homes. The business states that it has been inspected and approved by the AKC and local authorities.

Laraine has retired from breeding, but puppies may still become available periodically through connections with friends and family, and adult dogs may also be available for placement. She remains available for questions and training support, and boarding is offered for puppy buyers
