About Aiding the Transition 🩸
The PUPA Project is a Mississippi-based registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing menstrual equity through access, education, advocacy, and community support. Based in Jackson, the organization works with schools, community spaces, partners, and communities across the state to help people manage their periods with dignity. Its work includes distributing menstrual products, hygiene essentials, and related resources, as well as providing menstrual health education through schools, workshops, camps, and youth programs. The PUPA Project also promotes awareness, policy initiatives, partnerships, and community action, while connecting people with referrals and supportive services.
Its programs include The CoCoon Corner, the GLTAP Education Program, Caterpillar Cuties, Periods & Pops, Transition Towers, and the Beauteflie Youth Leadership Institute. The organization reports distributing more than 376,000 menstrual and hygiene products, reaching over 20 Mississippi counties and engaging more than 626 menstruators through its programming. Through its initiatives and outreach, The PUPA Project aims to expand access to menstrual care and build lasting community impact across Mississippi.
