About The Pyjama Foundation
The Pyjama Foundation, based in Brisbane QLD, is a charitable organization that is dedicated to empowering and transforming the lives of children in foster care. Founded in 2004 by Bronwyn Sheehan, their mission is to create positive relationships and provide learning opportunities, life skills, and confidence to every Australian child in care. Recognizing the alarming literacy and numeracy levels among children in foster care, The Pyjama Foundation developed the Love of Learning Program.
This program pairs volunteers, called Pyjama Angels, with a child in care. With just one hour a week, Pyjama Angels engage in learning-based activities such as reading books aloud, playing educational games, and assisting with homework. Through these interactions, they show the child that they are valued and loved.
The Pyjama Foundation also offers the Teen Life Skills Program and provides a wealth of resources, including printable materials, art resources, holiday resources, and life skills resources. They also organize events such as the Big Dreams Gala Ball. By supporting The Pyjama Foundation, you can help foster kids achieve their dreams and provide them with a brighter future.
