Therapeutic Assessment

The Therapeutic Assessment Institute (TAI) is a nonprofit professional organization for psychological assessment professionals and graduate students interested in Collaborative and Therapeutic Assessment. Its mission is to inspire hope and support positive mental and behavioral health worldwide through individualized, collaborative, and empathic assessment practice, education, and research.

Therapeutic Assessment is a brief intervention that uses psychological assessment to help people develop a clearer, more compassionate and useful understanding of themselves and their circumstances. TAI supports this approach through a professional community, training, research resources, and pathways to certification. Members and prospective members can explore membership benefits, connect with certified professionals, and find assessors. The institute also offers training events, including introductory workshops, and provides certification information and competency resources for work with adults, adolescents, children, and couples.

Additional resources include bibliographies, videos and podcasts, past newsletters, helpful links, and an assessment questionnaire. TAI’s online store features books, videos, certification resources, and other tools for learning and practice.
