The Recycle Project CIC is a York-based social enterprise working to reduce waste across York and North Yorkshire. Its mission is to keep useful goods in circulation, reduce the amount sent to landfill and support local people, charities and community groups. The organisation collects reusable items from Household Waste Recycling Centres and carries out responsible property clearances, prioritising reuse and recycling wherever possible.
Its services include house, office, landlord, shop, industrial, garage and shed clearances, as well as bulky rubbish and general waste removal. The Recycle Project also welcomes donations of furniture, bric-à-brac, household goods and small electrical items. Some suitable items can be collected free of charge in the area; donors can send photos to check whether goods can be accepted.
Selected second-hand furniture and household items are offered for sale through the project’s shop and Facebook sales group, providing affordable goods to the community. Based at 41 Huby Court in York, the organisation also invites people to volunteer and take part in its community activities.
