The Red Whistle is a health and human rights volunteer organization based in Makati, Philippines. As a collaborative platform, we bring people together to support individuals living with HIV, people of diverse SOGIESC (sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics), and those with mental health lived experiences. We also partner with brands to promote awareness and support for these communities.

With our mission going strong for a decade, The Red Whistle turns 10 this year under the theme Tayô Tayo, which means let's stand up and rise together. We have been instrumental in changing the game in HIV awareness and continue to do so. In terms of HIV education, we provide valuable information through our HIV 101 guide.

We explain the difference between HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). HIV can progress to AIDS if left untreated, but it cannot be transmitted through mosquito bites or sharing utensils. Prevention is essential, and while abstinence is the most effective method, correct and consistent condom use is highly recommended.

In addition, sharing needles is strongly discouraged. Regular HIV testing is crucial for early detection and for protecting yourself and your loved ones. We would love to hear from you.
