Established in 1988, The Rock Inn is a renowned guitar store located in Mount Lawley, Perth. However, the story of this iconic brand began in 1979, when the founder, who fell in love with Perth and Western Australia during a tour with his band, made a life-changing decision. After a series of setbacks, including a failed truck and accruing debts, he eventually found himself working in a music shop to pay them off.

Eight years later, armed with experience and a collection of gear, he returned to Perth to open The Rock Inn in Subiaco. From the beginning, The Rock Inn has strived to be different from others, and their vision remains the same to this day. They were pioneers in selling brands like PRS and Rickenbacker to the public.

In 1990, they expanded their reach by opening another store in Applecross, catering to a growing customer base south of the river. By 1993, both stores were merged into one large premises on Hay Street, Subiaco, before finally settling into their current location on Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, in August 1997. Recognizing the demand for quality acoustic guitars in Perth, The Acoustic Inn was opened in 2002.
