About The Scottish Yarn Festival
The Scottish Yarn Festival, established in 2016 and previously known as the Perth Festival of Yarn, stands as Scotland's largest and longest-running contemporary yarn and fibre festival. Celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, the festival brings together independent yarn dyers, producers of single-origin wool, and passionate fibre crafters from around the globe. Highlighted by a thoughtfully curated Vendors' Gallery Marketplace, the event showcases premier businesses from the UK and EU, offering a diverse range of yarn products.
Esteemed tutors and lecturers, such as Amy Palko and Di Gilpin, contribute to a rich educational experience through workshops and lectures. In addition to the main festival, a variety of social events, including book signings and gala dinners, engage attendees. The next festival, marking its 10th anniversary, will take place on 30-31 August 2025 at the Perth Concert Hall.
The Scottish Wool Producers Showcase, focusing on Scottish-origin yarns, is also set for 21 March 2026, further enriching Scotland's fibre arts scene
