The Shinmonzen is a luxury inn located in the heart of Gion, Kyoto, offering a highly personalized experience in a modern Japanese design. Designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando and with cosmopolitan accents by Rémi Tessier, this boutique hotel boasts a world-class collection of contemporary art. With just nine spacious suites, each with a veranda overlooking the scenic Shirakawa River, The Shinmonzen provides a relaxing refuge for guests.
The hotel is situated in Shinmonzen Street, also known as The Street of the Artists, Fine Arts, and Antique shops, which is rich in arts, historical heritage, and cultural legacy. Here, guests can immerse themselves in the artistic community and cultural capital of Japan. The Shinmonzen combines the Japanese concept of Omotenashi with refined epicureanism, influenced by their sister property Villa La Coste in Provence, to create an unforgettable and unique experience for every traveler
