About The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® is a trailblazing and progressive Order of queer and trans nuns that has been spreading universal joy since 1978. We strongly believe that everyone deserves the freedom to express their unique joy and beauty. Since our establishment in San Francisco on Easter Sunday, 1979, we have wholeheartedly dedicated ourselves to serving the community, engaging in ministry and outreach for those on the fringes, and advocating for human rights, diversity, and spiritual enlightenment.
With a clever blend of humor and irreverence, we fearlessly shed light on the forces of bigotry, complacency, and guilt that restrict the human spirit. Our range of activities includes events, joy grants, and the opportunity to become a member of our delightful Order. Additionally, we offer worldwide volunteer programs and a donation option to support our cause.
