The Sky Race

The IHH Sky Race | Merdeka 118 is a Malaysian tower-running event organised by Fresh Events Asia and held at Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur. Participants take on a climb of 118 floors and 2,845 steps, finishing at Level 118, where they can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city not ordinarily open to the public. The challenge welcomes individuals aged 13 and over and teams that may include participants from age eight, subject to event rules and guardian requirements. Climbers return to the ground by lift, and the organisers encourage everyone to prepare and ensure they are medically fit.

The inaugural 2026 event drew thousands of participants and achieved two Malaysia Book of Records milestones: most finishers in a tower-running race, with 7,797 finishers, and most participants in a sports recovery session, with 1,127 attendees. The event’s website provides race information, training guidance, frequently asked questions, official results and event photos.
