The Sober Friends Society

The Sober Friends Society is a nonprofit organization focused on helping people achieve and maintain sobriety while supporting families and the wider community. Its mission combines practical assistance with opportunities to build connection through group meetings, volunteer work, sober activities, and social functions. The organization also provides emergency funding to support people in need. Guided by the belief that every child deserves sober parents, the society works to create positive, life-changing experiences through community involvement and peer support.

The society organizes regular events, including a fun gathering on the last Saturday of each month, and offers activities such as paint nights. One listed event is an October painting night at Mackimakes Art Studio in Rocky View, Alberta, with pizza and pop included for participants. Its website also highlights fundraising initiatives, including Mike’s March and the Pirate & Princesses Gala, along with testimonials and information about its volunteer board. Community members can support the mission through donations, including e-transfers.
