Thessaloniki Design Week (ThessDW) is the first and only Design Week in Greece, known for its biennial events in 2019 and 2021. It has established itself as an important institution not only for Thessaloniki but also for the entire country. Organized by Philartia, in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and various public and private entities, ThessDW offers a platform for creative expression, reflection, dialogue, extroversion, promotion, showcasing opportunities, and collaborations.

As a member of the World Design Weeks network, ThessDW joined a global community of over 40 similar events worldwide in 2022. Its systematic implementation benefits representatives from the creative industry, as well as all sectors and aspects of design and creativity. ThessDW envisions itself as a multidimensional, participatory, and collaborative platform that connects creativity with entrepreneurship, innovation, development, production processes, and both domestic and international markets.

ThessDW 2021, themed "Innovation in Design," successfully took place from October 13th to 17th, despite the challenging circumstances posed by the pandemic. With a rich program and numerous participants, the event explored the design of both large-scale and personal spaces.

The inaugural ThessDW in 2019 made a significant impact, showcasing a multitude of activities, events, and collaborations. It centered around the concept of "RE-CREATION," urging our society to develop the necessary dynamism to meet the challenges, opportunities, and possibilities of the new era.
