About The Tall Ship
The Tall Ship Glenlee, owned by The Tall Ship Glenlee Trust, is a registered charity dedicated to advancing the education and knowledge of the history of Clyde Shipbuilding and Navigation. Their purpose is to recover, restore, preserve, and display historic sailing and maritime vessels built on the River Clyde. Since 1990, the trust has successfully restored the Glenlee from a hulk to an iconic landmark of the River Clyde.
Visitors can explore this unique and important historic vessel and learn about its rich history. Managed and maintained by the Clyde Maritime Centre, the Tall Ship Glenlee welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Kelvin Harbour, operated by the Clyde Maritime Centre, is a bustling hub where you'll find the Paisley Sea Cadets, Glasgow Coastal Rowing Club, and the RYA powerboat training center, Seaforce.
Additionally, Kelvin Harbour is home to Galgael traditional Celtic crafts. At The Tall Ship, their greatest resource is their people. Whether it's the dedicated staff, passionate volunteers, loyal trustees, Friends of Glenlee, or their business partners, their collective efforts ensure that the Tall Ship Glenlee continues to thrive as a living piece of maritime history.
