The Tax Club, University of Ibadan is a student-led organization with a vision to be a leading tax advocacy organization, contributing to the attainment of an absolutely tax-conscious society. They offer various programs to prepare students for opportunities in taxation and create a society that understands the significance of taxation and compliance in Nigeria.

The club's focus is to increase tax awareness and provide students with the means to explore opportunities in taxation through discussions, events, research, and internships. With over 100 members, the club continues to grow and aims to educate and sensitize students, young business owners, and small and medium enterprises on the operational aspect of taxation as a regulatory framework.

The Tax Club, University of Ibadan targets students of the University of Ibadan, other university students, and the society at large. They believe that educating students about taxation and raising tax awareness within the local community can influence a tax-conscious society. They also simplify complex areas of tax on their social media pages to benefit the general public.

The club started in November 2016 and has rapidly grown under the mentorship of Prof. Abiola Sanni, Dr Peter Oniemola, and Miss Adure Uzo-Peters, their staff advisers. They have made remarkable strides in terms of registration, membership growth, constitution, recognition with professional bodies, and participation in various tax conferences.

Founded by Ogochukwu Scholastica Akaeze, an innovative lawyer with a passion for taxation, the club aims to diversify the Nigerian economy and ensure effective implementation of Nigeria's tax laws. They offer resources, workshops, and networking opportunities for students interested in the field of taxation.
